THE JOURNEY OF SALVATION

The church is the body of Christ, a group of travelers from earth going to heaven. This journey encounters many things and it is compared to the journey of Israelites for Egypt to Canaan. It’s a journey with the miracles of God in it. It has remembrance and a history which will be ready in heaven and earth as well because God is the one who started this journey. God stared this journey when He created man at the Garden of Eden after the fall of man. Abraham was the first man to start the journey of faith. He was called the father of faith because he expected the unseen. Abraham walked with God and God told him to walk before Him and be perfect and He will bless him. God starts a journey with a person and cause that person to cause others to move with Him.

Isaiah 35: 8- 10 “A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
Shall not go astray.....”
  • Here God says there is a way for those who are saved, Paul call it the great call of God and this highway is called a way of holiness
  • He also talks about those passing through that way, that they are the travelers going to Zion
  • He also opens up that it is those who are redeemed by the Lord who will pass through that highway and not everyone. These people will not get lost because there is one who leads them
  • Those people have eternal joy. They have eternal joy because in that highway there is nothing to offend them and that lion and serpent cannot go in that way
Colossians 1: 13-  14  He has delivered us from the power of darkness and [a]conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption [b]through His blood, the forgiveness of sins”
  •  In this journey you have to know where you come from, that you came from the powers of darkness
  • God delivered you from darkness and therefore the things of darkness cannot trouble you. If there are things which offend you then you are still in darkness
  • These people have been moved into the Kingdom of the son of His love. When you move you are taken into love
  • They enter into redemption, which means forgiveness
Ephesians 1: 3- 8 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.......to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He [a]made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and [b]prudence,”

This journey is not yours but it is for the one who has chosen you among those who were captured in the power of darkness. You are the chosen one of the one who has chosen you and you are not saved by mistake. Because you are the chosen one, there is no way to postpone the journey.

A journey of the travelers is the journey of selection, once you have been chosen you get sanctified by Himself who has chosen you to be holy. Because we are chosen by God, we have the power of God in us and He has given us a language to speak to Him, which is not available anywhere but only to the chosen one. Because of that we have the authority over everything.

He has chosen us to be His sons and daughters. It is true that you have your parents by birth but that is not your identity. Your mother’s womb was a transit for you to get to the point to be called the son of God.

John 1: 12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [a]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:”

By this selection, we have been chosen to live in grace and because of that grace He has granted us wisdom

1 Peter 2: 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”

We are called the peculiar people and His priest so you are supposed to be royalty. A person who has given Jesus his life has favor before God.

Ephesians 2: 19 say you are a citizen of heaven that is why it says we are the saints of God and people of the house of God.

2 Timothy 4: 5- 8 “But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry....”

Those who go through that way must have the following characters
  • Endurance while walking through that way. This means enduring evil because earthly people will surely trouble you
  • Do the work of an evangelist while walking on the way to heaven
  • Fulfill your ministry. Everyone has a purpose to do so do it diligently
  • We must fight a good battle by watch that way careful on how you move
  • Finish the race and do not end up along the way. Know where you belong, where is your home
  • Keep your faith and do not leave it swinging. The journey has got a lot of things but make sure you keep it
Revelation 21: 1- 7 “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, [a]John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband..... He who overcomes [d]shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.”

When you keep your faith you will receive the following
  • You will have the grace to enter the new heaven and new earth
  • You will be among those who will be in the city of New Jerusalem
  • God will cause you to be in His dwelling
  • Because of the pain of your endurance, God will wipe away your tears
  • God will give you to inherit His goodness
What to do you who are called in order to please God

Exodus 12: 42 “It is a [a]night of solemn observance to the Lord for bringing them out of the land of Egypt. This is that night of the Lord, a solemn observance for all the children of Israel throughout their generations.”

Be careful and watchful not to forget the day you receive the grace of salvation.

Exodus 13: 1- 2, 16 “Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Consecrate[a] to Me all the firstborn, whatever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and beast; it is Mine. 16 It shall be as a sign on your hand and as frontlets between your eyes, for by strength of hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt.”

Make sure you offer your first fruits to the Lord. When you do so you remind God that you remember what He did to you.

Makes sure you give an offering that pleases God. The first offering is the burnt offering for reconciliation between you and your God so that God may forgive your life. This offering speaks mercy before God. This offering has three types which include
  • Tithe which talks about the honor of God
  •  First fruits to tell God that you are my giver and the source of what I have
  • Vows. The vows you give before God. When you fulfill you show that you recognize God
The second offering is Peace offering which is for your prosperity. When you give this, God allows you to begin to prosper. This is the one which open up your success. Success does not come through prayers but offerings, what have you offered? Peace offering brings the blessings from the earth and takes you to a place of greatness.

These are voluntary offerings which includes love, seed, thanks giving, evangelist and other contributions.
