WHAT TRAVELLER SHOULD UNDERSTAND AND DO

Exodus 23:24-33 “Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images. ²⁵ And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee......”

God knew that when the Israelites enter the promised land they will found habitants of that country so He commanded them to destroy all of them and they should not get any knowledge from them, that is they should not worship anything or learn how they worship but they should destroy everything.

To understand this you can get knowledge in Psalm 106: 35- 37 “But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. ³⁶ And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. ³⁷ Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,” When you associate with unbeliever, especially those who know the other side they can take you because they are more powerful because they belong to this world.

According to who you are (a born again) you do not belong to this world so you are like a stranger (remember the heart of a stranger) so you need to know whom are you depending on because if you don’t know it is easy for those of the other world to trap you. Because of lack of understand don’t thing you are like them, no! The bible says we are the travellers in Isaiah 35: 8 “And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.” Travellers have their own character which is different from others. Travellers are the holy ones and are strangers here on earth.

Philippians 3: 10- 13 “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; ¹¹ If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. ¹² Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. ¹³ Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,”

Travellers have different characters from the others and their character must resemble the characters of the holy people. As we have read in Philippians the character of a traveller desires to know the one who died for us and be ready to bear the pain of the consequences of being a believer. Bare the pain with joy as Jesus did when He triumph the cross. If you dot accept to go through pain for your salvation then you are not a traveller. There is something God planned and because of that Jesus caught you and turned your way not to go through the ways you parents go through and go where God has planned for you.

Know that you belong to where you have been called and not where you come from. The problem is thinking and speaking about yesterday instead of speaking your tomorrow, talking about who you used to be and what you went through. To be a traveller you must forget yesterday and start talking about tomorrow. If you have a lot about yesterday you cannot forgive because you will remember what others did to you and that is not a character of a traveller. Yesterday is for the world and tomorrow is for the travellers who are going to heaven, so if you remember about yesterday you are of the world for the travellers forgets about yesterday.

In Jeremiah 29:11 we see the God we are going to is thinking about our end, so don’t judge me about yesterday but wait and see my tomorrow because I am still on the way and I have not yet land to where I am going. Refuse to listen to those who try to intimidate you even though you are stranger because there is an Angel of God ahead of you taking you somewhere.

In this journey you have two places to focus on, first where your enemy is in order to finish him and then second where you are supposed to go for you to go there. Remember that Jesus told God not to take us away because He has a work with us which is to destroy the works of the devil. The call we have in Jesus is the highest call but we must have the characters of the traveller as it is in Proverb 2, 3 & 4.

It is easier for a traveller to be cheated and you will know when you are cheated because you will have no peace. There is a price to pay when you are deceived so be very careful and learn who is leading you. You are a traveller so learn to be you. When you associate yourself with the world you will be trapped in a snare and to come out is another job because you were once out.

When you consider what is for a traveller, always you will serve the Lord and you will get the benefits of the service. He will bless your bread that means your food will never sees or harm you and sickness will never be permitted to hunt you and you will become wealthier and healthier with sufficient life. All who are called lacks nothing but many travellers seems to lack things because they are still babies and when they reach to a certain station they will get their need and inheritance that is when they will be grow up and mature spiritually and start collecting their provision from God and not from people anymore. One day you will get somewhere and you will know it.

Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

The travellers are allowed to rest but not sleeping because anytime the journey will start, that is why Jesus after praying with His disciples at Gethsemane He told them to rest but not to sleep because He knew at any time they will come to take Him. Jesus also tells the believers in this world there is no time to sleep because we are in the journey.

Jesus wants us to get to the point where we will know that He died for us at the cross. When Jesus saved us, He did not want us to get saved and go live with Him in heaven, but He wants us first to show Satan that we are His here on earth and show satan that we are for Jesus. When you know this, you will come out and the world will know you. Just endure hardship and let no one take you out of your call.

In Isaiah 53: 4- 5 we see that Jesus took away our sickness when we hear the Angel who is ahead of us. This Angel can also be any messenger from God who gives you instructions so how you hear is how you receive. Also in Romans 8: 11 we see another revelation which shows that God sent His spirit in us to remove sicknesses in our bodies.

In verse 26 we see God rebuked bareness, so the traveller must understand that when you reach at you landing place, the one who you believe will cast away bareness. Remember when Hannah decided to seek God and God took away her bareness. Just reach your destination where God has prepared goodness for you. You will also never die prematurely by either diseases or accidents.

God is so aware about you that He will kick away the enemies ahead of you, this means anyone who doesn’t want to see you shining and is not happy with your prosperity, success or your worship will be kicked away. Some enemies God will finish them without you knowing because you don’t know them all. All of us have people who are our relatives, friends, neighbours or co workers who don’t want us to prosper so you need to recognise and deal with them and those you cannot know God will deal with them. Deal away with your Jebusites and you will be surprised of what will happen to your life. Identify your position and take charge for you to come out and then help your family too.

We see God sayings that He will not chase your enemies in one day so learn to deal with your enemies step by step. When you deal with them step by step you gain the ability to do better in the coming days as you continue to gain some form of ability. Do not attack the enemy from everywhere at the same time. 

To deal with enemies in your family start dealing with your relationships first by praying on miss understandings among you, second deal with covenants which were done by your parents and third decision making in the family to allow the one who understands well the journey and what should be done to lead the family. After dealing with those three areas, you will start dealing with the enemy that torment the family because if you will don’t deal with the enemy troubles will start afresh. Then you will be in a position to tell God to deal with your poverty. After this you can now take your sacrificial offering to God and cheer up because you will start seeing changes in your life.
