THE MYSTERY OF EXPECTATION
Jeremiah 29:11 ‘For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans
to give you hope and a future’
What is expectation?
It is that which has not yet happened but you know it is going to
happen. God wants to control your expectation, but the devil also wants to
control your expectation because your expectation is the womb that carries your
manifestation. Without expectation there is no manifestation. If you expect it
you can have it.
God control expectation with faith and the devil control
expectation with fear. Job 3: 25 ‘What I feared has come upon me; what I
dreaded has happened to me.’ Job was expecting troubles and problems
and that is exactly what happened.
Hebrews 10: 12-13
‘ But when this
priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the
right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits
for his enemies to be made his footstool.’ Jesus was expecting that His enemies will be
his footsteps. (This is my expectation that in the next two and half remaining
months, your enemies will be on your footstep)
What is your expectation?
Three things to help you deliver your expectation
- Speak your expectation and not your frustration. Don’t put your frustration into words. Proverb 18:21 ‘The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.’ Numbers 14:28 ‘So tell them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say.’ The church must be made of the Caleb and Joshua, who don’t speak frustration
- Become a giver not because the church need, but because you need your expectation. In 1 chronicle 21:18-26, David received his answers after he gave a sacrifice. God answered after David gave a ‘sacrificial giving’ and not just a sacrifice. When you honour and give to your spiritual parents, you will not be able to quantify what God will do to your life. When your sacrifices touches heaven, God will use your enemies
- Celebrate your expectations. When you celebrate, you are calling your expectations. Act 16: 25-26 ‘About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose’. Paul and Silas were in prison but were not prisoners for the prison’s door could not hold their expectation
