FATHERHOOD- PART I

FATHER AND SON RELATIONSHIP
In Luke 15:1-31 “…………………………….And he said, A certain man had two sons:  And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.………………………”
In the above verses, we see the relationship between a father and a son.  There are many sons who are serving God but they are dead and lost. These are those who work very hard and busy but always sinking.
Why is this relationship important?
  • Your father is your foundation. The high you can go will depend on your attachment with your foundation. If you detach yourself from your father, you detach yourself from your foundation. The beauty of the house cannot sustain a house but its foundation. A prodigal son had the blessings with him, but when he detach himself from the foundation the blessings could not sustain him
  • Your father is your source. That is where you came from. Whatever you are having, come through your source. God crated everything from a source. Even trees are created from a source which is soil. Principle of a kingdom needs everything to be attached to its source for it to success. Human beings were created by God but through a father. The source does not need the product to survive, but the product requires a source to remain alive. Don’t struggle to search for yourself, look for your source
The mistake that the prodigal son did is a common mistake that the church is doing, stop doing the work of the father. Jesus blood did not have sin in it because it was not of Mary her mother, but of His heavenly father, His source. The problem of the prodigal son was not how he spends neither his blessing in a far county, nor the environment, his problem was that he left the house of the father (his foundation and source).
John 14:20 ‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’.
John 16:15 ‘All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you’.
Your father is greater than you. You have nothing outside your father’s wealth.
The older sons’ problem was that he never wanted to see the younger brother be blessed by the father even though they have always been there with all the fathers’ blessings. The older and younger son are equal in sharing their father’s blessings. Even if you are an elder son, and you have your problems, don’t detach from your father.
John 8:35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever’. A son should know that he abide in the house of a father ‘ever’ (meaning every day). That is why when a prodigal son came back into his senses and go back home, he asked to be made a servant because he realised he was not in the house of the father every day. Wait in the father’s house every day, even if the younger ones are the first to be blessed, for tolerance brings blessings. “The best wine does not come in the beginning of the wedding, it comes in the end of the wedding”
You should note that, you don’t choose your father, therefore honour your father and remain connected to him. Don’t get the spirit of Absalom, to over through your father because the Heavenly Father will not allow the fatherhood to be abused for He knows the pain. Heavenly Father works in unity with the fathers on earth.

As David said in Psalm 122, ‘…I rejoice when they told me let’s go in the house….’ sons and daughters remain in the house! Sons who remain in the house of the father will have the right to do things that the father does.
