PRAYERS
FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN SORROW
HOW DO YOU KNOW
THAT YOU ARE UNDER SORROW?
1. You don’t feel joy.
For instance in the house you stay, there is no glory in it; the marriage you
have, has no glory, the family you are in, you cannot see establishment. While
others are rejoicing, but on your side you face sorrow.
·
Sorrow always brings pain, this is because it takes away joy in your
heart.
When you are under such a cry, there is a kind of prayer that you have
to pray so that you may be able to get out from such an area.
·
These kind of prayers will help you to move from where you were.
·
These kind of prayers is for those who feel timid, since sorrow makes
you feel low.
WHEN YOU WANT TO
PRAY SUCH KIND OF PRAYERS:-
1. Recognize your situation.
This means that, sit down and think before you start praying. Use your
mind to think, “I am I happy?, I am I joyful? And so more”. Ask yourself and
your mind such questions.
Psalms 119:130 “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth
understanding unto the simple.”
This means that, the way the word is elaborated to you; this helps you
to gather a lot of information about you, God and what to do next.
That is why the Bible says that, “THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD, SHALL
DO EXPLOITS.” How do they do exploits? “BY UNDERSTANDING.”
Psalms 119:11 “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin
against thee.”
So before you pray, search yourself whether you have kept the word in
your heart, whether you have wronged God as well. This means that you need to
understand your situation and whether you are worthy to pray.
2. Direct your heart to where the word is or to the
understanding of that word. So before you pray, search for the word which gives
you assurance to pray for such kind of a situation.
Psalms 119:133 “Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity
have dominion over me.”
·
People are moved by situations, but don’t be by moved by situations but
according to the word.
·
Don’t pray as others pray, but ask yourself, “Has the word guided you to
pray that way?”
When you stand to the word, iniquity will never have dominion over you
but it will disappear since you have the power of the word.
3. Agree to walk by following the truth of God.
Psalms 119:59-60 “I thought on my
ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies. I made haste, and delayed not to
keep thy commandments.”
This means that, after discovering what the bible says; you sat, thought
and came up with an understanding of the word; thus desire and go and live
according to what the bible says.
LET THE WORD GUIDE
YOU AND DIRECT YOU ON HOW TO LIVE.
·
Don’t delay to make decisions as to the word but after gaining
understanding of the word, act upon it immediately.
Psalms 119:150 “They draw nigh that follow after mischief: they are far
from thy law.”
When you go straight to the word, you will never walk wandering; but
what you do becomes real and what you pray will give you answers because you
went through the right thing and steps by the word.
4. Maintain the truth in your heart.
Psalms 119:10-11 “With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from
thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin
against thee.”
Reach a point and let the word stay and speak within your heart. At
whatever that happens to you, ask yourself what does the word say concerning
it?
When you reach a point of the understanding of the word, you become as a
specialist. When the word dwells in your heart, your fear is in God not in men.
KEEP THE WORD OF GOD
5. Explain your situation before God, don’t pray but
give the explanation about what happened.
Psalms 34:4-6 “I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all
my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were
not ashamed. This poor man
cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his
troubles.”
·
Remove your shame aside and open up to God, tell Him about what has
happened (be specific).
Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for
mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.”
6. Now express your feelings about what is your desire
and what do you need?
Isaiah 43:26 “Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare
thou, that thou mayest be justified.”
How do you remind God?
According to Isaiah 43:25, the Bible says that; HE will not remember
your sins for His own sake.
1 Chronicles 4:9 “And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and
his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.”
When you pray according to those scenarios and follow the sequence, God
will never despise to hear you and answer you.
·
As your problem took long, make a plan for your prayers. Prayers for
overcoming need a plan.
7. Live a life that pleases God, live a life of the
fear of God.
After taking your prayers before the Lord, live a life that shows
worship no matter where you are.
Psalms 34:8-9 “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the
man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there
is no want to them that fear him.”
THOSE WHO FEAR GOD,
LACK NOTHING!!! Why? It is because, God Himself is the provider to them.
·
If you fear God and live according to His WILL, you will lack nothing.
·
Anyone who fears God, lacks nothing.
8. Make gratitude to the Lord by living a life that
pleases Him.
